"Lean Manufacturing in R&D Environments"

Matching Your Needs with Peer Group Experience

Have you or your organisation implemented Lean Manufacturing within an R&D manufacturing environment?

Would you like to learn and share with peer group organisations around this subject?

One of our clients, a globally recognised company employing over 60,000 people and receiving revenues in excess of $18bn, would like to Xchange ideas, experiences and best practices with peer group executives within R&D environments who are responsible for Quality or Testing activities and who have experience (success and failures) implementing Lean Manufacturing.

Our clients’ Global Manufacturing PMO have recently investigated the potential for implementing Lean Manufacturing within one of their R&D sites based in the UK. Following an initial discovery session it was concluded that Lean Manufacturing could be implemented and the related benefits realised but not without changes being made to the organisation structure and the current way of working. This is likely to mean a move away from the current project-ised working activities and splitting up of Repetitive and Routine work tasks.

The Routine work activities are simpler and can be reproduced across projects, which makes them more suited to the effective application of Lean Manufacturing.

Our client is therefore interested in learning from organisations who have implemented Lean Manufacturing within an R&D environment so that they can make further investment decisions.

In return for your help our client has offered to produce a summary report containing information about this investigation, their findings and conclusions. This report will be distributed to all participants and to protect confidentiality all names will be removed.

Xchasm are currently promoting this opportunity to peer group organisations and setting up introductory telephone calls to identify mutual opportunities for our client to pursue.

If you would like more information about this opportunity please let us know via the links at the bottom of this page.

Are these issues of interest to you or your colleagues and would your organisation benefit from learning how other large organisations are delivering Lean Manufacturing initiatives?

If you or one of your colleagues are keen to benchmark your organisation against other non-competing organisations in this highly topical area then this initiative should be of interest.

Xchasm will be running inter company activities on this subject over the coming months, so simply let us know via the email link below if this is of interest to you (or one of your colleagues) and we will be in touch in due course to match your needs and requirements to our client's.
